We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can access or correct it.

What we collect

We only collect personal information we need to quote, book and carry out transport jobs, and to run our business. This may include:

  • your name, phone number, email address and postal address;
  • pickup and delivery addresses, and site access details or photos you send us;
  • details of the item being moved, such as vehicle make, model and registration, container size, or machine type and weight;
  • the names and contact details of people handing over or receiving an item;
  • payment and invoicing details;
  • records of our calls, emails and messages with you;
  • basic website data such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited (see "Cookies and website data").

We don't knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health information). Please don't send it to us.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you request a quote, book a job, call, email, or fill in a form on our website. Sometimes we collect it from someone acting for you, such as a buyer, seller, dealer, builder or property manager who gives us your details for a pickup or delivery. If you give us someone else's details, please make sure they know you've done so.

Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • prepare quotes and answer enquiries;
  • book, plan and carry out pickups and deliveries;
  • contact you or the people at each end of the job about timing and access;
  • invoice, take payment and keep business records;
  • deal with questions, complaints, damage claims and insurance matters;
  • improve our services and website;
  • meet our legal obligations.

We won't use your information for marketing unless you've agreed, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information when it's needed for the purposes above, for example with:

  • our drivers and staff;
  • the person handing over or receiving the item;
  • other transport operators we engage to complete part of a job (we'll tell you first);
  • our insurer, accountant, bank, payment processor and IT, email and website providers;
  • government agencies or others where the law requires or allows it.

We don't sell personal information.

Overseas providers

Some of our software and cloud service providers (for example, email, website hosting or form tools) may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure those providers protect your information in a way consistent with the APPs.

Cookies and website data

Our website may use cookies and similar tools to make it work properly and to understand how visitors use it (for example, the number of visitors and pages viewed). This information is generally not used to identify you. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, but parts of the site may not work as well. The maps on our site are provided by OpenStreetMap and Google Maps, which may collect data under their own privacy policies.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These include password-protected systems and limiting access to people who need it. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please keep this in mind when you send information to us online.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires (for example, tax records are generally kept for five years). After that, we destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we can't give you access, we'll explain why. We won't charge you for asking, but we may charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of providing access.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. We'll aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
